Ideal with red and white meats.
It comes from vineyards planted in clay-limestone and schist soils. Harvest: manual and mechanical. Vinification: The grapes are destemmed, crushed and cooled. After pre-fermentation maceration, part of the grapes is fermented in marble mills and the rest in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Aging: Six months, and in the second and third-year on French and American oak barrels.
Born from a long line of producers, João Portugal Ramos graduated in Agronomy from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia. Interned at the Center of Studies of the Two Ports National Wine Station, after which he began in 1980 in Alentejo, the activity of oenologists.
From the accumulated experience, João Portugal Ramos formed Consulvinus at the end of the decade with the aim of responding to the numerous requests from various producers all over the country. Thus, Consulvinus expanded its activity beyond Alentejo from 1989, reaching Ribatejo, Setúbal Peninsula, Dão, Beiras, Estremadura, and the Douro, participating in the development of remarkable Portuguese wines and revitalizing regions that until then began to fall in the region. forgetting oenophiles and consumers.
